Why can't you run Linux from it? Bios limitation? Firmware issue?

For tech sovereignty, you can go everywhere. I'm loving Copyparty since I found it as a very versatile and trivial to deploy file server. Even from a phone. https://github.com/9001/copyparty

Can't go wrong with a Nostr relay to hold an archive of all ofyour notes. Or heck, a blossom server.

I assume you've already got a full Bitcoin node. If no Lightning yet, LND is not as hard as some have made it out to be to run. You can make it that way, but a basic server with a private channel or two will teach you a lot and be quire manageable. Also can't go wrong with things like Joinmarket to handle the best coinjoin implementation out there from a sovereignty perspective. Be sure to get JAM for the graphical front end.

Oh goes without saying, but sshd for remote access from your phone or other devices. And tunneling from public wifi.

Why would I need remote access to my phone?

I meant the other way: use your phone to access your music, book, movie, and other file library.

But i have actually downloaded stuff while out visiting family and needed to get it to them because I wasn't trying to have them access the pirate sites I got it from 😄

I usually have just used sftp with andftp to access my books. Used to use mpd to access and stream my music.

Copyparty just does it all with a simple file.
