I only use cloudflare for dns since my registrar makes you pay for dns queries and cloudflare is free

You should use different servers because Cloudlfare essentially man-in-the-middles everyone. They are like the internet's TSA.

I turned off all of their security features. It's literally just DNS now

You got to get DNScrypt installed on whatever your device is and use that. It's way more secure and it routes around the world just like Tor does.
