Maybe Ronald Reagan would have understood #Bitcoin and #Nostr

“Perhaps you and I have lived too long with this miracle to properly be appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and it's never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. And those in world history who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again.

Knowing this, it's hard to explain those among us who even today would question the people's capacity for self- government. I've often wondered if they will answer, those who subscribe to that philosophy: if no one among us is capable of governing himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else? Using the temporary authority granted by the people, in increasing number lately at all levels of government, have sought control even of the means of production as if they could do this without eventually controlling those who produce. And always they explain this as necessary to the people's welfare. "The deterioration of every government begins with the decay of the principle upon which it was founded." This was written in 1748, and it's as true today as it was then.”

I think Reagan was good at talking the talk, but he did not walk the walk. I have no idea why freedom minded people worship him. He really was an authoritarian nightmare.

😂 - it’s why I said “maybe”

That being said, the words still ring true and highlight the hypocrisy of those trying to control through narratives of fear, coercion, and control.

one spends a lot more time thinking about important things when one remembers that politicians and marketers are actors.

I agree with the quote, and wasn’t trying to project any opinions you may or may not have about him if it came across that way. Just stating mine.

Have you seen to docu The money masters?

I think a lot about whether Nikola Tesla would have understood it. Tying energy to currency seems like something he would want.

I suspect he, Buckminster Fuller, John Von Neumann and many other great minds through history would have instantly connected the dots.

I think your thesis is so simple but so poignant and easy to miss. My friend did the house experiment recently that you have done on podcasts and it really hit home with him.

💜

I am sure Atatürk the founder of Turkish Republic would understand both #bitcoin & #nostr as he said " #sovereignty is not given, it is taken". It would not be expressed better wha t #sovereign ty stands for.

My favorite thing regarding Reagan is the Killer Mike song about him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lIqNjC1RKU
