nostr > zion

Heard Justin Rezvani on Cafe Bitcoin talking about Zion. I get they are trying to do better than the current social media options out there, but only thing I heard that is different from what we already have on nostr is something about the DID and how we currently can't roll keys on nostr ( which is already being worked on, am i right?)

Things I don't like about Zion:

- Its a centralized company

- Costs $12/month to be a 'creator'

- Can only pay with a debit/credit card so instantly doxxed

- If the company fails, or rugs, then...

- They are working to include support for ordinals

Someone asked whether they will integrate nostr, and Justin said they have a bounty out for a dev to help them do that..

I have yet to understand how that would work with a company/platform like theirs, can anyone explain?

Either way, bottom line, we don't need zion, and imo it's basically dead on arrival being that we have nostr ๐Ÿ’œ

Any thoughts?

If its either or then nostr has alread won because of its decentralization. If Zion can work with nostr it may have use.

Curious what use you see it having?

I don't but I havent really looked at it. In his own words he doesn't see how it can at this point.

I don't mind paying for things like relays and such but don't like centralized services much.

I just want a DECENTralized life.

With you on that ๐Ÿค

You get it. Zion was bad execution. DIDs with a closed wall garden backed by fiat venture capital.

Iโ€™ll take the decentralized ostriches any day ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’œ

"zion" jewish wet dream of SBF, Alex Mashinsky, Barry Silbert and Gary Gensler.

Not even once ๐Ÿ˜‚

The bus already left the station, not sure if they don't realize it or if they are in denial because of all the time/money invested..
