My neighbor's 78 year old lawn mower. His father built it 1 year before he was born. He added a new transmission when he brought it down to Baja over 20 years ago. Still mows several acres every year 🤙
My neighbor also built his own backhoe and accessories, many years ago. I need to get some photos to share. It's like living next to McGyver.

Great web over choya or cholla cactus. Easy to spot on dewy mornings. I wonder if there's a symbolic relationship with the spiders and plant. They don't seem to harm the plants, wonder if they benefit from them?

Actually it's a well and we want water, not light. We do have moisture, but not enough.
Hole is currently 105'. We'll go to 120' and then go to exploration hand drill for 30' more if needed.
These smaller casing (rings) are going down to reinforce about the last 15' they dug.

Mexican citizens don't pay and in fact tourists many times pay little to nothing. Socialized medicine paid by taxation.
If i want a private doctor to do a house vist it will cost 25-$50usd and many times include the medicine.
It's not the best but paying cash for doctors, medicines and surgeries is cheaper than US deductible many times.
Oops... I knew my new tool was sharp and just told myself to be careful. What i didn't realize was that the rubber handle was loose and allowed it to twist enough to catch my leg.
Makes me think I need to do better with my medical. I have big bandages but not easily available. Luckily, I have workers here, and 1 ran me to the hospital. Nasty puncture wound that didn't want to stop bleeding. Several layers of stitches and all good.
Emergency services no costs and 10 days of antibiotics and pain killers $10 usd. Who needs insurance?
I was a trained EMT and mtn. rescuer, and the services were relatively fast, professional and clean. No complaints about Mexico medical services.

Been raining off and on all night.
Rain can be pain.
I'm loving the rains but due to the sudden pressure changes from hurricane Lorena passing by I have much more arthritis pain.
Why is it people with arthritis can tell its about to rain, from the pain in their joints?
I understand the gases in our joints don't equalize as fast and that causes the inflammation.
Not sure if thats accurate but I feel like a live barometer. Now the rain, with little wind, has arrived, the pain is disappearing, pressure no longer changing fast.

Morning work, built a quick ramp so we can dump water fast at well location.
Pouring cement pad with reinforcements for winch and boom stands.
They've begun bending and wiring up reinforcements for the cement rings will be pouring daily.
We should begin digging early next week.

So I had my largest Moringa tree chewed off a few inches above ground. I wasn't happy and just left the trunk there and just stuffed the trunk back into the ground.
The stump is becoming a moringa bush and the trunk is aliiive. Now have new growth on the old trunk. Have to relocate, had no idea it would get roots, just left it there, quite the survivor.
