I get your point, but I’m still on team opsec on this one. I have some #bitcoin themed clothing and I love wearing it, but it’s all subtle. Like a nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 shirt with the logo, an nostr:npub18d4r6wanxkyrdfjdrjqzj2ukua5cas669ew2g5w7lf4a8te7awzqey6lt3 shirt, and just picked up a ZapZapZap shirt from nostr:npub12hcytyr8fumy3axde8wgeced523gyp6v6zczqktwuqeaztfc2xzsz3rdp4. You would have to be in the know to know what those piece of clothing mean.

I’m not protecting against my sats. Having a good multisig cold storage wallet ensures my sats are secure. I’m protecting my family. Maybe I’m doing too much by limiting what clothes I wear, but it seems like such an easy thing to give up when I look at my wife and kid. Idk 🤷🫂💜

I have no bitcoin swag. I just find it strange that there is a perceived physical threat to you over a #â‚¿ on a tshirt rather than a physical BMW, mansion, rolex etc...

Much easier to get rid of bitcoin than a BMW… the fear of someone taking advantage of my family in order to get to my stored #B is real and should be protected maybe not today but in the future

We might need to check the stats on stolen bitcoin vs. stolen bmws. This seems irrational. The symbols of wealth are pervasive. Criminals want easy targets. They do not want to kidnap, assault or murder when they can fence regular goods all day.

When it comes to organized crime there’s nothing they won’t do for money and if you can steal a BMW find a chop shop sell the parts or the thing as a whole that’s pretty organized IMO again maybe not today but when prices for groceries get to high jobs get even more scarce people still need to feed there kids and if they happen to know someone with bitcoin….

I think this is a bias because we value bitcoin. Most people would have no idea what to look for or how to exchange it. So either you become the target of a very sophisticated criminal who has has to wager on the roi of how many sats they believe you have access to compared the potential consequences or they just hit up anyone who has obvious easily exchangeable goods like any wedding ring.
