So the explanation for my note yesterday would be that – at that very moment – the clients were not connected to any of the same relays? And there is no syncing later? Because again, I'm having no issues seeing this thread in both clients now.

Your note will be observable when you connect to the relay you sent the message from.
You just can not see your note from yesterday because you are not connected to that relay you sent the message from.
Amethyst and primal are clients not relays.
You can select the relays you are connected then you login to the client.
