Yes, the US is signalling that they also want to enter Iran with whatever dumb reason they can come up with this time.

Iran is the last on the list of countries planned to create war in and invade (a plan that was ready just days after 9/11)

The plan was for 5 years, but you know... war is a racket:

"The general showed Clark a classified memo from then-Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld that listed seven countries that were to be toppled by the U.S. military in the coming five years: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran. In that order."

And because the US is currently similar to any failing empire in the past, it will blame and rage against any other country (Russia, China, etc.) and will never admit its own mistakes... Because that would be the immediate downfall of politics and powerful people. Can't have that!
