Going to run a full node at some point, busy downloading. Does anyone know how long it will take more or less considering the amount of blocks I have left? The estimation fluctuates too much to really help

Already took me almost a week to get where I am now but I don't have the best internet connection tbh

Are you using an SSD? One of the most common mistakes is not using an SSD because of the nature of how Bitcoin downloads but then validates and indexes the data, it is pretty disk intensive and that tends to be the bottleneck.

I would expect that in a week you should be done, but 50% doesn't mean you're half way there unfortunately. I would expect maybe 2 more weeks at that rate 😬. I may be wrong, you may get lucky.

I am actually not using an SSD (using HDD). Oops

Once I'm all synced up then it should be quick to run the full node from there even on the HDD right? Or should I abandon altogether and start new on an SSD?

If you have a chance to use SSD 2TB, do that. It will keep you safe from issues in the long run.

The final half takes more than twice as long as the first half. There is the option to download all the blocks in zip and unzip them. It would speed up part of the process. The longest time is not the download but the processing of the blocks.

It will go fast till 90 and then you soon hit the flood of UTXOs made by ordinals and BRC20 tokens. It's a slow process. Be patient and take a nature bath in the meantime.
