I feel poor when price goes down. People like me have some real bitcoin in some places that I never sell from....but I also have USD denominated securities that are highly correlated with BTC price.
like it or not this is reality.
Price matters until the world is on the satoshi standard.
Price matters a lot.
Even in the bitcoin maximalist community people define themselves by what the price was when they started buying substantial BTC.

Everyone acknowledges that sales of classic bitcoin books (bitcoin standard) or advertising on bitcoin podcasts is HIGHLY correlated to price.
In the long term I can see argument that price "doesn't matter", but as time starts to run out on my life the short term matters a bit more.
