These green policies are a global issue, certainly not limited to Europe.

Oil has been essential to develop countries and bring them into the modern world we live in today. These policies wil rob under developed countries from having those same opportunities because they will at a developmental disadvantage by limiting their access to the same resources that 1st world nations used to get to where they are today.

It's the same as privately schooled individuals trying to abolish private education. Hypocrisy from privileged people.

The idea of solar or EVs solving any kind of crisis is entirely fictional, because:

1. There is no actual crisis

2. EVs are masking the non-issue by moving emissions from cars to the fossil fuels used to power them.

Scaling of renewables will not work due to the sheer amount of resources required to build out the infrastructure. Imagine if everyone had an EV, how do you think they would be powered without combustible energy sources?

Bit by bit, they are working to curtail our freedoms by bringing in nonsense policies, refusing to debate under the guise of 'settled science', and lying about the implications this would have.

If we support these policies, they will come back to bite us.

Hey man can you please please please read my last post before replying?

My opinion is NOT about spending less resources or green energy. It's about having European economy less dependent on petroleum / oil.

I don't care if an EV will be less efficient or polute less or more.

I hope you understand (you don't have to agree) my point of view now.

I understand your point; countries that have a hard time accessing oil should have other options. I get that.

Less dependent on oil means that they would be more dependent on another energy source, and the only solutions being proposed are wind and solar. That's the issue I have with opposition to oil.

The only alternative that exists as a viable solution is nuclear, and last I checked, instead of building reactors, they are shutting them down.

More reason to attempt to destabilize the region in order to gain some control over their resources.

Blowing up pipelines, stirring up conflicts that lead to innocent people losing their lives fighting in proxy wars just to maintain global control and keep profiting off of the lives of others. It's truly disgusting.

Exactly, but now they begin to act as the headless chicken. We need to live through this 1.5 years until the dems lose. The republicans are not much better (from an outsider point), but maybe they won't escalate this till the use of the Nukes. Sadly I can't say this about the current regime...

Policies don't rob anyone. People enforcing those policies do. It's important not to speak in euphemism. It's an unnecessary later on Nostr.

Well, yes, but I think you're being a little pedantic here. The people who push the policies will also want to enforce them.
