How can we ever expect to raise again as a civilization if we devote public space to billboards instead of inspiring art ?
Ads trigger mimetic desire that (at civilization scale) inevitably ends up in insatisfaction and violence.
First though: Julian Hosp is now advertising water slides.
After living 5 years a small town with almost no ads beside local events and the like, I almost want to puck when I come back to a big city and get crushed by ads all over the place.
As mention, 99% of ads are for useless shit that people never need in the first place, including a lot of ads for consumer credit (to buy TV, cars and shits).
Once we realize that's removing these are in citizen best interest, we will have made a massive step forward as an advanced civilization.
