How much of the value of Twitter was just in the branding? - and Musk nukes it for X.

It’s now clearer than ever that if Musk really wanted to create an all encompassing social media platform it would’ve been far cheaper to just make one from scratch.

He paid 44b just for the users? And they’re all looking to leave now.

As the world moves towards open protocols like #Nostr, Musk is trying the re-invent the wheel with yet another proprietary walled garden.

For a man that has been pushing the envelope his whole life, this really seems beneath him.

Narrator: Musk hasn’t been pushing the envelope his whole life. This was just a misconception. Now we’re all getting to see who he actually is and it’s not inspiring.

He didn’t change, our public perception of him did.

I know hating on Elon is the new cool thing (for many good reasons), but reality isn't so black and white.

SpaceX wouldn't have accomplished nearly as much without him at the helm. He pushed his engineers to think outside the box and accomplish things that would be too risky by any other companies standards.

Landing and reusing rocket stages is now a weekly occurrence, something that NASA used to laugh out of the room. He should be commended for that, like him or not.

I made a ton of cash on Tesla when everyone was saying don’t invest. Space X does does do amazing things. But this doesn’t mean the man is a genius at everything. Seems like his jam is inspiring brilliant engineers. He should stick to that. His politics, his views on money and his dream of a new WeChat for everyone under brand X are all plain bollocks.
