Wow, I’m liking this new Damus look!

ā€œAny system sufficiently complex is indistinguishable from intelligenceā€

Ponder this deeply.

It will bring relief.

Lol, the Twitter blue check mark is now so respected you can hide it from you account.

Literally, the entire concept of the blue check mark turned on it’s head. nostr:note179gw6xf53q39cn4ewuyula6y2c56xfc4nw3qxlq666gznxk2rawsa0c9ds

No one wants a WeChat called X.

No one asked for it.

Absolutely no one needs it.

WeChat is a Frankenstein monster of an app that was cooked up in the isolated Petri dish of authoritarian China.

It could never compete with a truly open market. It has to be kept isolated in order for it to live.

Musk is an idiot for thinking this is what people are longing for.

I made a ton of cash on Tesla when everyone was saying don’t invest. Space X does does do amazing things. But this doesn’t mean the man is a genius at everything. Seems like his jam is inspiring brilliant engineers. He should stick to that. His politics, his views on money and his dream of a new WeChat for everyone under brand X are all plain bollocks.

Narrator: Musk hasn’t been pushing the envelope his whole life. This was just a misconception. Now we’re all getting to see who he actually is and it’s not inspiring.

He didn’t change, our public perception of him did.

How much of the value of Twitter was just in the branding? - and Musk nukes it for X.

It’s now clearer than ever that if Musk really wanted to create an all encompassing social media platform it would’ve been far cheaper to just make one from scratch.

He paid 44b just for the users? And they’re all looking to leave now.

So, I just signed up to Tribal.

Their UX is waaaaay better than here.

I want to be on Damus, but it looks and feels messy and is not a pleasing experience.

Are people working on the UX here?

Ok #BitcoinĀ  people, Bank of England is asking advice on their digital pound, you don’t need to be a British citizen to fill out the form.

Don’t spam the form, write thoughtful answers.

šŸ§”šŸ‡ØšŸ‡·Costa RicašŸ‡ØšŸ‡·šŸ§”

šŸ‡ØšŸ‡· Costa Rica šŸ‡ØšŸ‡·is going to become an exciting place to be if you’re into #Bitcoin.

So much in the works right now.

In Hong Kong #[0] would not be able to sit on a public panel and hide his face with a mask.

It is illegal to cover you face in a public gathering in Hong Kong.

#freedom.

If the apps are good enough, Hong Kongers will quickly take up #Nostr to further their fight for freedom and raise their voice. Organising an event, based primarily on human freedom in a city, Hong Kong, that has had its freedoms completely quashed by a draconian security law is nonsensical and is a tacit hat-tip to authoritarianism.

Newly created Police State Hong Kong and newly created decentralised media protocol #Nostr just don’t sync for me - call me old fashioned.

I think we should be rewarding cities with vision and not ones that have locked up their entire elected opposition for running a primary election.

I call bullshit on what you’re saying here.

ā€œI was 100% on protesters sideā€ is always a caveat for a ā€˜BUT’ actually HKers need to be more pragmatic, cus, well China!

Your words are littered with CCP talking points. No one who understands the protesters would describe it as a ā€˜secession movement’ A CCP talking point.

People in HK who believe in freedom and have been run out of their city absolutely do not believe that US/WEFis a bigger threat than the CCP. Yet another Beijing talking point. Hong Kongers absolutely will use Nostr to express their desires to be free and fight the system and HK police will try to ban it as soon as they realise it’s potential, so shining a big light on it so early on in the city is a big mistake imo. Especially if it’s coming from a place of ego.

If the conference hastens this then it will be a huge slow hand clap for you.

Web3 meet ups are building a centralised world. Just what HK wants.
