I know how to be bizarrely productive, but I don't have any idea how to have my productivity recognized. Everything I do just looks so effortless and like I'm goofing around.

I'm always reduced to stopping work and letting everything run straight into a wall, so that they notice that I've actually been running myself ragged and doing the labour of a whole army of people.

It sounds like you're missing some personal metrics. Your new metrics may not be recognized by your superiors, but they might be recognized by your next employer.

I guess that's how it is with husbands, too, sometimes.

If you're not valued by your husband, then he's no husband.
