I guess the Moon today is called Thunder Moon. In August there will be two Super Moons, called Blue Moon in one month. Anyways, a great picture. 👏🏽

I don't know, there are different terminologies in English and Hungarian. I've never heard the "Thunder Moon" expression. What's the difference between Hunter's Moon, Thunder Moon, Red Moon, Blood Moon? Super Moon is o.k., and the Blue Moon is clear to me... I've seen the "Smurfs" movie :-)

😆 Gargamel Lover here .

Early European cultures, for example, lived according to the lunar calendar (cycles) instead of the Gregorian solar calendar. The full moon was named after distinctive weather events at a particular time of year - storm or thunder moon, hunter's moon because hunting took place in autumn. It was also named after important seasonal dates in agriculture, e.g. harvest moon. The blood moon simply looks a little red because it is a trick of the light. Every culture has its own names for the moon and its cycles. Living by the lunar calendar feels very natural to me. It's interesting what influence cycles have.

Thanks for the info, I had no idea about these. I found in the dictionary that the Red Moon is called the "Hunter's Moon" of the Anglo-Saxons, but that was not correct info.

I don't know about Hunter's Moon or similar expressions in Hungarian language (even though we are in Europe :-) ) I only knew that it was Blood Moon or Red Moon. And of course Gargamel :-D

The effect of lunar cycles on life is really interesting, but there is some "practice" in it. As long as there has been life on Earth, the Moon has been with us and moves in the same way (although astronomers say it was once closer to the Earth).

On the other hand I couldn't explain it astrologically (I haven't paid attention in the seminar for a while).

But the Moon was so red today, that's why I took this picture :-)

Happy to like it!
