#MITBTExpo was amazing. Clever people from the right backgrounds saying stuff the world needs to hear. Bitcoin is far far more than code. Privacy is needed by far far more people than long haired computer nerds; in fact, if you’re a physician it’s arguably your duty to up your privacy game so that you don’t inferably leak important medical info about people you recently saw…while doing so isn’t punishable under hipaa, it is a violation of the far stricter standard of ethics the profession demands.

Caught bits & pieces of the live streams, need to go back and watch the rest..seemed like a great event even with a simultaneous bit block boom. Can the general public register for next year or is this student/invite only?

General public. https://www.mitbtcexpo.org

Long running event…more than a decade in fact.

At first I thought you were talking about docs being dumb on social media, but you are right about the entire payment system. Your bank knows which doc you see, Visa knows which pharmacy you go to and possibly even the drugs you bought (possibly even from Amazon).

Everyone deserves the right of true privacy.

If you come see me, and then I start googling “current IDSA guidelines for gonorrhea treatment,” someone might be in a position to infer your condition.

Metadata can be a bitch too. Suppose you come to see me and then I make a phone call to an expert in treating gonorrhea.

Doctors probably should think about these things and maybe hospital computers should tor browse by default.

Hi Dr Bitcoin 🤟🏴‍☠️😉 happy black monday! Absolutely spot on. Privacy isn’t a luxury, it’s a professional and ethical responsibility especially for those who serve others. Bitcoin opens doors not just for financial sovereignty, but also for protecting sensitive human realities.
