This seems to me like an somewhat automated solution to a problem easily solved through simple communication like text.

"Are you busy or can we jump on a call?"

Fixes a lot of that. You can even program it into a shortcut.

FWIW I've done that plenty in both a professional and personal context... try it sometime

I literally only do that. People are busy and phonecalls can monopolize one's time so I find it best to plan them ahead of time.

I guess I'm just not the target audience for this.
