This requires examining what makes for a "governing authority". If you think it's some dude with goons and a monopoly on violence, you're missing the bigger question. What makes a just and righteous "governing authority"? How is that authority determined or selected? Would Christ prefer violence as the selection mechanism as it is now or is there a different way?
