Finally found decent deadlifting solution to sore back: apparently I had an anterior tilted pelvis kind of causing an arch in my back where lots of pressure built when deadlifting. The solution: keeping the bar closer to me the entire way so there less torque pressure on my back and consciously thinking about keeping my pelvis more upright
