Just went to see if nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg was a part of Ten31 portfolio and indeed it was! Scrolled the list of companies/software they invested and what came to my mind is how can I short this fund ? 😁

That's normal. A real VC will get a mega return in 1 or 2 of those (which I believe they have) to pay for all the other "failures".

Do you use any of the startups on this list ? 😁

No, but that's not that important.

That’s right! All of them are broken and the max bet Ten31 has is the strike company ! Imagine investing in this VC 🤔

Good sleuthing!

Ten 31 bet is nostr:npub1ex7mdykw786qxvmtuls208uyxmn0hse95rfwsarvfde5yg6wy7jq6qvyt9 that I also would short šŸ˜†

I thought strike had a quite good reputation. I might be biased because I like Jack Mallers, at least, so far.

Swan raised a flag for me though:

Jack is the the promise guy that doesn’t keep his words and has childish ego! nostr:npub1cn4t4cd78nm900qc2hhqte5aa8c9njm6qkfzw95tszufwcwtcnsq7g3vle when I can buy coke via tor in sunny Chicago? 🤣🤣

P.S. this announcement form few years ago 🪦 ā˜ ļø

Really hope that was a demo account and his PIN really isn't 0000

lol, I think he's great ... but who buys a coke and 6 bud lights 🤣

What a great ode to his dad for showing him the dnm where you used to be able to actually buy coke over tor

parents be lyke 🤫

You’d short Coinkite, River, Primal, hodl hodl, mempool.Space, etc? Tons of good ones on there

None of them generate revenue ! Only Coinkite makes a little bit of sense

River as well but it’s the hedge to strike

Yeah, good points. Fold might turn out well too if their listing goes okay. Definitely hard to make money investing in startups unless they get bought or go public. I would be much farther ahead if I just bought Bitcoin than do any startup investing!

You can make bigger % cash back with credit cards than with Fold! Also the biggest slap into face is that Fold for years haven’t integrated lightning withdrawals! Dumb!

P.S. I just unfrozen the card to after few years of not touching it just to see how it’s sucks to give a review !

Agree. Doesn’t make sense to use them for that, but getting some sats back on paying a bill through ACH is nice. Lack of Lightning withdrawals is really frustrating.

1.5% is nothing

Also have fun to scale it internationally 😁

I’d take 1.5% (though that is limited to first $2500), over 0%. I’d take 0.25% over 0%. If the option is to pay with Fold ā€œcheckingā€ and get sats back or your bank’s checking and getting nothing back, I’ll do Fold.

It’s designed for Americans who live in debt !

As I said have fun scaling this

Agree. Will be hard with all the differing regulations around the world

Definitely for Americans but how is using it to pay bills only for people living in debt?

You can use credit cards with bigger cash back and stack the points that will cover more than fold is offering

How do you pay the credit card back?

I never spend cash to buy things! I use credit cards and then cover them right away

Me too. What do you cover them with? Cash from checking account?

Money orders 🤣

Old school :)

I’ll use my Fold account for get some puny sats back to pay off my credit cards right away.

I should mention that this in no way uses the Fold Card. Instead you just give the biller the account number and routing number and it will be drawn from like any ACH bill pay.

Let’s say I use a credit card to get cash back and then pay those bills off in full each month using Fold? I get cash back from card and says back for paying the credit card back. Short term debt (but no interest since paying it back right away)

Of course when they push out proprietary protocols and overpriced (and kinda crappy) NFC readers at 2x normal retail price

And also ā€œsalesā€ (they are permanent)

I mean looking into the Ten31 portfolio Coinkite is make sense because they have something to sell that makes sense

yeah this is the VC model. go big or go home, 1 mega win covers all the other losses
