What existed before the universe?
Discussion
It never makes any sense no matter how long I think about it.
I used to think about it all the time when I was little, and then id feel like I was getting it and then all of a sudden it wouldn't make sense. Still wonder though. Aarently it was total nothingness (except energy) stretched out to no end. I just can't comprehend there being no end to empty space π€―
Currently not known but people are working on the question
I wonder how they would figure it out π§π―. I think I saw somewhere that Neil deGrasse Tyson said that the thought of what could have been a part of our solar system keeps him up at night - because our universe is constantly expanding, once upon a time there might have been other planets close by that have drifted away with time π€―
Physics is wild (and incomplete) for sure π€
Iβve heard the theory that our universe was created out of the implosion of a prior universe that lead to the Big Bang
Wow π€― do you think maybe we could be living just one big Groundhog Day, except instead of a day it's a couple billion years before everything recycles and starts over with possibly all of us again
Haha nice one π. Im so late, I only joined twitter/X properly last year π¬ had it for a bit when I was 16 though
They say a universe will expand infinitely but they claim there was a beginning.
Makes no sense to me.
But hey, all of this expansion had to come from somewhere!
Alright,
There's only 2 possibilities.
1) The existence of things emerged out of nothing. Nothing created something out of nothing.
Or
2) What exists simply is and has always been. Infinity cannot be infinite if it has start to be.
The first option sounds retarded to me.
But,
I've seen the Infinite. The truth.
Yeah it's confusing π it must have done, there must have been something before π€―π exciting to think about
I have a feeling the true nature of the universe is so bizarre that our simple minds canβt even begin to grasp it.
I really enjoyed this article on the topic.
Is this the longest article ever written? π may as well call it a book
I opened this on my lunch break & thought the same thing! Lol Saving it for later! Thanks for sharing!
Douglas Adamβs take is also appealing in its cynicism, ngl
I've just started reading this! ππ€ I'll get back to you with thoughts π§
I love that! π We humans always try to rationalise everything but maybe it's a good thing that there are some things we can't explain, let's our imagination run wild β¨
Nothing. Time only began at the beginning of the universe. Anything βbeforeβ then is just out of bounds
