Fired the old contractor after a year and a half of painful slog. Spent 2 weeks meeting and getting estimates on a dozen different things, and now planning to sign with a guy who literally has to gut most of what the previous “contractor” did and basically start over… and he says they will be in and out in 3 months.

So I’m out like $40k on the other asshole, but things are moving forward and we may actually have the bulk of our house together before summer is over, which would be amazing.
