A friend of mines son, who is white and maybe 8 years old, was suspended for 3 days for using the word “monkey” with his best friend, who happens to be black. Like he was climbing up on things like a monkey. Zero racial slur intended. Zero offense taken by the friend. A young white teacher overheard it, got offended *on behalf of the black student* and got involved. “Zero tolerance” policy and suspension of an innocent kid, along with a school-wide letter about the “incident”. Unreal.
