If I could quickly convert my lightning sats to widely a accepted fiat token, I'd see no reason to hold any fiat.
It's contingent on being able to do it KYC free though.
In % terms Bitcoin is becoming less volatile as it's value becomes more significant.

USD token dominance would remove a country's ability to steal the wealth of their own citizens.
In reality, USD dominance is just a stepping stone to Bitcoin dominance.
I'm not cheering on USD token adoption but I'm also not concerned.
KYC & surveillance is my concern, but I'm bullish on human ingenuity.
pretty much with you here. If people want to use it because it has usd in the name which is familiar and they associate that with something good - they’re free to go for it.
As we know. It has all the downsides of the us dollar with far enhanced surveillance and censorship capabilities. tether will become increasingly subservient to US interests. Not because they want to, but as is already demonstrated, because they will have to, to keep the music playing.
