Exactly. The currency of nature is calories - where creatures have to do economic calculation with calories to determine what’s worth an expenditure and what’s not.

I prefer to expend time / money / energy on getting more free. Probably because I hate the idea of being lorded over by corrupt and incompetent losers. So I do what I want and take the risks and pay the costs associated with that way of life.
