Sometimes we can get to a point where everything is questionable. How independent are my thoughts? How much of them are from my parental/societal/state programming? How much of my thoughts are being led by my environment? How much of my environment is natural vs contrived? What if an external hero is really controlled opposition?

If I can question the validity of original thoughts from myself, how can I validate the thoughts from someone else? A good agent doesn't realize they are being handled. They believe their actions and thoughts are original, when in fact, they were covertly programmed.

I doubt that was the case here, but I jokingly pretended that it was. Cheers to situational awareness!
