True. It reminds me of Thomas Sowell’s quote: ‘When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear.’

I like that quote, agree with the sentiment & love Sowell, but I think that is still imperfect wording. Because in general I think the best thing you can do for yourself is to be honest & help others.
