For me I enjoy being independent and doing my own thing. Always have.
I think having someone else in my life could cause me some mental discomfort as I am so used to being single.
Saying that I do want to have a family. I dont want to be an lonely old man.

Well plenty of people got married and ended up alone anyways.
Having kids and legacy is also appealing to me. I feel genetically coded to pass on my ginger genes to keep my species alive. 😆

The survival of our species is not in your hands my friend, how many ever kids you create. ;)
Also instead of your genes you can leave your ideas behind. The right ideas may contribute much more to our survival than anyone's genes and if you care about being remembered once you're gone ideas can make you remembered forever, other than genes, which will be altered and optimized in a generation or two anyways.
