good morning all - its already Monday here and its always my most restless day of the week - the hoping for the best but expecting the worst, kinda feeling. I started the past 2 days reading about Roman history and completely surprised - I did not know Julius Caesar was gay (or allegedly gay) - I mean good for him if he was happy but he was with Cleopatra and had a son. After he died, Cleopatra was with Marc Anthony had 3 kids but subsequently she committed suicide, her first born was killed, her 2 other boys MIA. Fortunately her daughter survived and eventually became an African Queen. Caesar's descendant Nero, found a young slave boy who resembled his dead wife Sabina whom he killed, castrated the poor boy and married him. Reading Roman history felt as dark as watching Black Swan or Requim for a Dream. Gotta watch a standup or something after this to flush out and start the day afresh.

Hope you'll have great week ahead!

Good morning!

Sounds like a biblical story to me

that reminds me, I need to re-read the Bible again. I did not know there was a 400 year gap between the old and new testament

Sounds Old Testament to me but I have never read the text it’s on my list 😌

A book recommendation that was a bit prescient, sort of like The Sovereign Individual, is Tocqueville’s book On Democracy.

Are those your reading list recommendations?

On Democracy is for historical perspective and Sovereign Individual for a libertarian view. Yes, I recommend both, but warn both are long reads.

No wonder some foreboding after reading that. The Roman elites suffered from lead poisoning which affected their sanity.

Someone should check the pipes of our current politicians, know that I think of it. 😂

I used to dread Mondays. Now I actually enjoy them because you have a clean slate after the weekend. The possibilities are endless. Rock it, Pam! 🚀
