Trump owns a majority stake in a company that recently bought $2 billion+ in bitcoin. I donβt know if that makes him a bitcoiner, but there arenβt many individuals who effectively own more bitcoin.
Discussion
It doesnβt.
Ok, but we can probably say his interests are aligned with bitcoiners.
I donβt think we can. His interests are aligned with himself. Have you been sleeping for the last few decades?
True, and when bitcoin does better, Trump does better.
So explain the 180 on the SBR.
BTW, I was against the SBR from the start. Iβm in favor of governments owning zero bitcoin, for the record.
I really canβt explain it-maybe he thought he would need congressional support for an SBR and didnβt have it, or for many other reasons.
I agree Trump doesnβt care about what most bitcoiners care about, nor does he really understand it, but I would rather have someone as President with a large part of their NW in bitcoin like Trump, who would much rather have bitcoin do well (i.e. his interests are aligned).
But hey, at least he got $170 billion to put brown people into internment camps!
Not a chance. He wants to sell US debt. Nothing more.
Owning bitcoin, does not make you a bitcoiner

What is your definition of bitcoiner?
Someone who sees Bitcoin as freedom money and as the end goal, aligned with the ethos of a permissionless, p2p universal money that frees you from the fiat control system. Not someone who buys and hodls Bitcoin in order to have more fiat.
Thank you. Your definition is similar to my definition. But if someone HODLs bitcoin (doesnβt sell) and doesnβt have that mindset/definition (like perhaps Trump and most who own bitcoin), they also help the network, and they probably consider themselves bitcoiners.
If only those people who thought like you and lived 100% on a bitcoin standard owned bitcoin, the network would be a fraction of the size it is today and much more vulnerable to an attack.
