What is a good relay software with full user authentication (pay to read?) to be used as a closed/private working group?
Like a company's slack?
Imagine Twitter, but just for your employees.
Taking corporate gossip to a whole other level.

That should be worth a ⚡️
Yo 🤙(not an operator, just seen this before....)
Whoever makes it gonna get rich
this idea def may be listed for that nostr bounty page(I forgot the url).
The problem is if users are also connected to public relays and repost notes... No more corporate/private 🥲
Yep, but slack is also like that.
Good relay is always be free, only verified user sent events and have advanced spam filter.
We use NextCloud for that. Makes a nice intranet with the plugins. Slack is a mess. Heck could probably make a Noster plug-in too.
the possibilities are endless! I'd probably not focus on that too much in the beginning, though, as those solutions offer sophisticated features that a company really appreciates. Some like matrix offer you to host your own infrastructure, avoiding the issue of privacy etc.
What I mean is that the nostr protocol strives in a permissionless and open environment that should be censorship-resistant, all things that private closed groups do not need.
In IRC you could set up to join multiple servers.
Somewhat related: I made some mockups on “relay sets” feature for Damus.
User is able to easily toggle between friends private relay, work private relay, universe relay etc. Toggle is on timeline view. One tap switches you to an alternate relay perspective.
