Is there any country in the West whose government is not currently mass importing immigrants?

Australia is on track for 637k new persons this year, starting from a base of 26.4M that’s a 2.4% increase with literally zero slack in housing availability (1% vacancy rate) and unemployment at just 3.6%.

Governments appear to be setting fire to the living standards of their people to prop up their Ponzi schemes in the short term.

The only way this changes is if an equal number of existing working people 20-40 years old leave; destroy the tax base, wreck the replacement rate, withdraw from local capital and retail markets, leave the government to rule over a bunch of retired Boomers and Immigrant gig-workers whilst punching a generational hole in the budget that they weren’t anticipating and cannot structurally repair.

Canada 🇨🇦 is going to try and solve a demographic and monetary inflation problem with immigration. All the while having record high housing and rent prices. “That’s a bold strategy Cotton, let see if it pays off for them.”
