Filtering by whitelists can't work because I can structure hidden content in otherwise valid transactions if I need to. Unknown pattern hidden inside valid patterns. Clear concept would be using the first letter of sentences. Known for sure that I didn't swear in this paragraph by blocking all profanity, or did I.

Still easy to filter for the F word hidden in first letters, start by looking for sentences that start with an F. Helps reduce compute vs having the filter check every combination for you. Increaded productivity, you can code a filter for that in a sec. This will work for sure, no one will think of a path around because it would be too whack.
Faster that you could finish the code for the F word at the beginning of sentences I just snuck another F bomb and a new profanity in.

Transaction types like what? Are you referring to OP_RETURN because that is an entirely unspendable output so THAT can't be a transaction. Unless you think 40 bytes isn't enough for a 32 byte imprinted hash anchor.

Because one implementation of coinjoining needs 4 more bytes of data (which you can set in your node BTW unless you suddenly think filters work) that's why OP_RETURN needs 100KB?

What I want is irrelevant. What I do is the matter. Also, nothing about whirlpool REQUIRES 46 bytes. They are just not good at using metadata hashes efficiently.

I think you either misinterpreted what I meant by this or perhaps inferred based on other posts. All data is not equal in the real world, just like all matter is not equal. They are made of the same parts but have different effects when combined differently.
I use Steganography for some of my password management, I am aware of a lot of techniques surrounding data. Thank you for the input.
I agree. My point is that you cannot know for sure what data is more or less important until the person who created the data tells you.
If you use steganography you understand that principle, but haven't generalized the knowledge that it applies to data filtering also.
Listen, I know your stance on filtering. I do not agree because of an ideological difference not a technical one. I do not spend my time acquiescing to the state just because I know that their will be imposed on me. I resist. I apply this same principle to data on my node. I hold monetary transaction data as sacred and pass along the message. I do not do the same with non-monetary data. It is my code, my machine. I care not for the futility or ends because the means and ends are my own.
I apply steganographic methods to data systems meant for those data. I do not barge into Russia and demand that they let me write my english words. Even if I hack their language and type Вутсч as a protest, I am defiling their language. I hold myself morally responsible for that. I know others may not but their conscience is not mine to listen to. Hiding my data among MY property is my perogative.
Much like the allegory of the little girl returning starfish to the sea but unable to save them all, I still try because that is my nature.
You can run so many filters you need more CPU than a monero miner to keep up with block validation for all I care.
My issue is that making it about filters doesn't fix the real issue of implanting illegal data to make node running illegal. It is a bandaid on a bullet wound.

I want people to understand the real issue so that a real fix can be implemented.

My argument is that steg tools are a working real work example that proves data filtering a motivated opponent is impossible.

Exactly. Why are you taking on the risks of adding all that filtering complexity if you stand 0 chance of modifying the blocks you are going to store?
Every line of code is a potential breaking bug or remote exploit so we do know what risks you take.
The code has been there for quite a while and didn't seem to be a problem until Citrea decided it was. Anyway I can make it more difficult to spam the blockchain with kiddie porn I'm going to do. Maybe I can't stop the seriously motivated steg type people but at least I can prevent the average spammer/perv. Open the floodgates to plain as day CP and no normal person will ever consider running a node. I wouldn't.
