I've got just the thing, a bridge between AniList and Nostr. (Well not really, I'm considering building it)

I don't use AniList but this would maybe get me to start. Idk I'd say build it if it seems like a fun project to you

Mhm agree and that's what nostr:npub1wnanaunumzv96ll0cm5569uzjqn474yj24a559n2h8x3gk9d40rsjxl20f 's Animestr aims to achieve. It's at https://animestr.xyz/ if you're interested. In early alpha stage.
However I would prefer the bridge approach over a remake of Anilist/MAL as those platforms do a great job in keeping up with new releases and they already has a huge database of media metadata. And it integrates nicely with MALsync browser extension.
Rebuilding all that is too much imo.
