I’d say there must be a middle ground where you don’t have to work - but can if you desire, you have a large stockpile of saved labor so you’re not just barely scrapping by, and also you are physically and cognitively active in activities that are safer than a senior felling trees.

if i can challenge him to triangulate how tall the trees are and how far away the house is, perhaps that is a way to feed 2 birds with 1 crumb
