Given the upcoming end to Xbox Live/Games with Gold, it’s got me thinking I just might opt out to any sub. I only had Gold so I could get the GWG offerings and I only have Ultimate from a free promo offer and I don’t use all it’s features. I just cancelled my Game Pass subscription. Knowing that games come and go like movies on streaming services makes me play them in an order that's dictated by someone else, and that's what I'm tired of. I'd rather own my games so I can play them when I want, and in the order I want is what it comes down to
I’ve mostly used game pass as a means try out new games to see if it’s something I want own later. Even bought some games physical as a result. And thanks to cloud gaming I’m able to play series S/X titles on my Xbox One without the need for the system. I can see gamers becoming beholden to the game pass if they let it but at this time it works for me, for the time being 🤷♂️
