You missed a vital and inherent element of modern day warfare. Drone warfare has made global conflict too easy and cheap to wage. Therefore, it's not all too difficult to wage a large-scale conflict over an extended period of time.
Yes but even that isn’t free or cheap. The point is that it will have a cost and someone has to pay it. Instead of making everyone pay it through inflation
It's cheap for the state, but not for us. They could just keep raising taxes and have us pay for their wars. It's a very easy fix. Inflation isn't real! It's a purely conceptual matter. They've just convinced you and everyone else that it actually means something. Inflation has been going up, but the value of my BTC holdings has skyrocketed. What does that tell you? Who would we be paying debt to? Printing more money to pay off national debt would just lead to more Inflation! It would solve nothing!
You can’t just raise taxes. That’s not how they funded wars in the past. They had to issue war bonds before in order to pay for wars and the wars didn’t last for very long. Fiat literally made things possible that governments couldn’t do before.

The Iraq war lasted so long because the military industrial complex wants endless wars to keep making money off us. Drones or not, it doesn’t really matter because they’re just printing the money to do it. If they had to raise taxes to pay for all that spending people would riot.

The entire BRICS compact means that waging these conflicts will, in turn, become more costly for countries who are in opposition of them and less costly for the those which are allied. So, if living costs become more expensive for UK and US citizens, it means that domestic conflicts are more likely to escalate. If that happens, than it would be far less beneficial for the UK to allie with the US.

You're still misunderstanding. As long as the US dollar keeps losing value as the global reserve currency, they will continue to raise taxes (which they just prosoposed to do so today). And people are beginning to riot! In the UK, people are beginning to become outraged about issues such as Sunak's conscription plan, the rise in living costs, bad public education and a handful of other matters. The US is not exempt from the outcomes of these problems. Just observe how high the unemployment rate has become in the US. The UK is no different.
