Are we sure this isn't an angry Karen? I'd like to believe that a thief would cut all the cable they can. An angry Karen saying "if I can't change in front of my house then no one can" would fit the cutting

The better solution would be to make everyone bring their own cable (and a socket on the station). Most EV owners already have a mess of adapters, having each their cable wouldn't make that much of a difference.
