I love LA and San Diego both, and in fact for many years I dreamed of living there.

But if I ever gave in to the incessant demands from my main client that I move to the US (I am from and live in Barcelona and work from there for this US company), I am sad to say that today I would never move to California, despite having some of my closest friends in LA.

If you're from there or have been there forever, I totally understand why you wouldn't want to move though.

Have never traveled to Barca... It's on the bucket list... Did meet some cool people from Spain and could see myself living there at some point

Beautiful town and great everything. It does get too cold in the winter and is too far from the sea for me, personally.

Local cultural snippet #1: Barça (pronounced "Barsa") is the football team. The city is either "BCN" or "Barna".

Spain is a great place to live -- if you have a foreign salary/income. And it's larger and a lot more diverse than it looks, geographically.

Short of the big American outdoors, with infinite prairies and woodlands and deserts, you can pick and choose whatever climate you prefer. You have wet cool regions, parched sun-burnt ones, oceanside, continent, mountains, plains...
