Did you realise that any five people from this comment can report your reply, which could result in you being shadowbanned permanently for the majority of Amethyst users?
However, I suppose you're okay with it. Many people surrender their control and freedoms for temporary convenience and security. Here's a fun fact: I use Onyx, and there is no difference in the user experience (UX). So you are literally giving it away for free. You can check.
By the way, Damus users also report post of 'bad content,' (they don't like) leading to a shadow ban on Amethyst.
However, I suppose those unintentionally shadow banned users are merely collateral damage for you, so that you can enjoy a better user experience (UX). Priorities, my friend.
Are there five "anti censorship" people here willing to censor me to prove a point? That would be a bit hypocritical don't you think?
Look, I think there is potential for the report system to be leveraged in a way that improves UX without risk of abuse. Amethyst policy is not set in stone, and more data is needed to find the right balance if it exists. As of now I don't think anyone that doesn't deserve it is being censored. That may change in the future, and if it does I will adjust accordingly. Until then I wish to continue to experiment with it and see how it develops. I like Vitor's work and want to continue to support him.
