Probably. Yes, but by little steps, please.
Muy bueno ahí entré 👌✨
is groups.nip29.com open source?
i'd like to have a look before just using it. thanks in advance.
I tried signing in on my phone with an nsec extension but none of my posts in the General group seem to be showing up. I don’t think we’re quite there yet.
Yeah I'm not seeing my group on my relay at the moment either. Not sure if it's because this doesn't support private groups yet or something else.
it has been created 5 hours ago 😂😂 give it some time...

But nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z told me to delete my Telegram! 😂
I didn't say delete... :)
Just stop using telegram to discuss Nostr. It doesn't make any sense.
We have had NIP-28 for a while and people still used proprietary platforms to discuss Nostr. Let's see if NIP-29 people can start switching over.
It's the closest viable solution I've seen so far. We're trying to get it smoothed out on strfry, so that our team can eventually move from Slack.
Same 👷🏼
Thank you
I don't get how NIP-29 achieves decentralization & censorship resistance when group events are accepted and managed only by a single relay.
Agree, but we do have other options of chats, including public ones that Amethyst implements. NIP29 is for those that want moderation by a relay.
you own your data! if you don't like a relay, just migrate your groups to another! something that's not possible on traditional apps.
Hypothetically, let's say you have 50,000 in a group (I've seen far bigger on Telegram). All of a sudden, your relay is targeted.
1. How do you communicate to your 50k where to find your new relay?
2. How do you keep your new relay from being immediately targeted by the same actor who took down the first?
1) The group members are npubs. Write a note. Tag them from the new group. DM them. Whatever. Groups have a membership list event.
2) It's a server. Put it on a different machine. Protect the machine better. Protect the relay better. Have a fallback mirror.
This and nostr:npub1tm99pgz2lth724jeld6gzz6zv48zy6xp4n9xu5uqrwvx9km54qaqkkxn72 are still very buggy, damn.
- Messages keep disappearing or only load later
- Join requests have to be repeated nearly every time
- ...
This is surprising since it's all on the same relay 🙃
what? wow!
telegram is a spyware run by dishonest people. Durov's FUDding that signal is insecure because of his conspiracy theory, yet not having end to end encryption for groups, with "we encrypt our database" security was hopefully eye opening for most. I never used Telegram for anything, it's very suspicious.
