Yep, we have lots of these in eastern NC. First time I knocked one down & saw the spiders it kinda blew my mind.

We get plenty of mud wasps, but I usually just leave them alone. Never would've guessed they were serial killers to jumping spiders. 🤯🤯🤯

Lots of wasps are caterpillar predators too. I have an old video where i recorded a threadwaisted wasp pulling a caterpillar down a sand burrow and along comes a fly and divebombs several eggs down the burrow. Presumably the fly eggs hatch before the wasps eggs and the fly wins the prize.
