Is it theoretically possible to add a feature on Coracle wherein if a user mutes another Nostr user. That they do not show up in their follow list and instead just get booted straight into the mute list until the end of time?

There is one on my follow list right now that creeps me the fuck out. Another that I just never want to see again, but started reacting to this new account. I wound up burning my old account, because he followed me, he was a very sick fuck, and had some truly disgusting arguments with him.

I know that there are limitations to what can be done given that Nostr NIPs seem to favor online stalker rights vs protecting the privacy of its users. Just want to know if any ideas come to mind to help protect Coracle users until the Guardians of the Nips get on board to do the right thing. Thank you for your time and consideration. Have a most wonderful night.

"Block" has been discussed, and is a good idea despite the fact that you can't really enforce it. But if clients implemented it, it could help.

Here is a good comparison of the situation. Being able to play whack a mole on a stalker with new accounts is infinitely better than being forced to allow them to always watch you take a shower against your will every day. Right now I feel it is a huge invasion of privacy and makes me never want to examine my follow list, because I know the creep(s) are always there watching me.

This becomes increasingly important as younger generations begin to use Nostr. I know as it is right now any parent who loves their children should take this very seriously. For if you don't have basic safeguards in place to protect them. Then they could be endlessly harassed, stalked, groomed, or far far worse.

Better to be an innovator that paves the way by protecting your users. Than to be a developer who waits forever for the Guardians of the Nips to potentially never do the right thing by implementing block as an official NIP.
