Considering 23&Me. Thoughts? Don't like the idea of my genetics out there in big tech/data. Maybe it already is (à la X files).. but it makes me nervous.. but it would be cool to know stuff about my genetics. I'm on the fence.

Same. Your genetics are already likely in the database to some extent. I find the genealogical research more interesting. Searching through records, talking to family members etc. I have a bunch of spreadsheets I'm working on

Don't. They have already had several breeches and have been known to facilitate extra-judicial information to gubment agencies. This is a huge security risk, IMO.

I'm already on file (I'm sure) as a veteran, but, I'm not risking my whole genetic profile being much more easily accessible via a low-hanging-fruit breech of a janky company.

My sister did. So i basically know and It is not actually that interesting.
