My wife keeps putting it like the left picture. She's from Brazil so I thought it must be a Brazilian thing. I guess not.
Around my house if we put it in your "correct" position the kids or the cats will unravel the entire roll onto the floor. I came home once to 3 bathrooms unraveled.
Needless to say, the correct solution to place the roll unrolling from behind, with holders that allow you to remove the roll snd hold it in front if you.
If you have cats or toddlers . . . the entire roll will end up unraveled on the floor if you unroll from the front.
