Vent! I just want the local cattle ranchers to understand that if they irradicate one of the few native nitrogen fixers because it is toxic to the cattle that they are still harming their cattle because the grasses will not grow as well or as nutritious without that nitrogen in the soil??? This area used to have amazing grass but because it's over grazed and the native nitrogen fixer is being irradicated, we're now up to 1 head of cattle per 40 acres without the use of supplemental feeding.

That sounds about right for working with most ranchers. It can be frustrating for sure. Farmers are worse in some cases. But every now and then, you get the people that actually care about their land and long term effects. They say it makes it all worth it. We shall see about that. I hope so.

I know but I had hope because she's younger and a first generation cattle rancher. And I know in her view they did just loose two pregnant heifers because of mud, so I know that hurt and she's afraid of losing more this year to something she views as preventable.

That is sad. I imagine when you are new, there is very little financial wiggle room and fear goes a long way. Hopefully, time and experience will help to resolve this and not go the other way.

I'm hoping.
