it should improve discoverability and make loading users' profiles much faster
it's value will increase as nostr grows more decentralized 😉
It's similar to https://rbr.bio/ ?
instead of centralizing around relays which point us to contacts, we centralize around contacts which point us to relays.
since a nostr account exists independently of any relay, contacts are the more decentralized thing to centralize on.
