I appreciate the enthusiasm for the deodorant, but this is my first time shipping products as i usually only make enough for the meetup. Can those of you who are already shipping stuff give me some tips?

usps, fedex, vs ups

Padded envelopes vs boxes

Tools to estimate shipping costs

For my cuttings i just did a usps flat rate padded envelope.

I put the cuttings inside some cardboard (for protecc) and slid them into a gallon zip and then into the envelope.

I'd imagine a flat rate box should be super simple.

For onsie/twosie orders a padded envelope would prob work just fine. Maybe do like i did with some extra cardboard 🤷‍♀️

Use pirateship.com probably save 40-50% on rates. I usually reuse boxes from Amazon, etc.

I use USPS because First Class Package is reliable and inexpensive. I think it's called Ground Advantage now. You can buy postage from sites like Pirate Ship. Before you buy, you can compare the pricing between USPS, UPS and FedEx.

For packaging, since my items are soft (socks, hats, blankets), I use poly mailers. I use Ecoenclose since the materials are a little more environmentally friendly and I like the additional design element that they can be reused for other purposes.

Hope that helps!

I just use Pirate Ship

Use PirateShip.com for your shipping. It will give you the cheapest rates and allow you to pick which carrier. Also gives you estimates.

Use padded if possible, boxes of you must like if it’s too big for padded or if you’re shipping glass. Use recycled news paper for packing material.
