Honestly, I often just use Google review 🫣 easy to access and lots of reviews from a wide perspective of people

Do you have anything you don't like about that or have it differently?

Not really. Everything is well integrated into a few clicks, so I find it very user-friendly.

The only thing I wish for is it to be more decentralized 🤙

Thanks #[5]! Also would be nice to have a zap integration there for good advice, right? 😁

💯

That would make it epic because you could then boost reviews that you agree with. On the other hand, there are pros and cons with that ⚡️

What cons can you think of? Too high barrier for amplifying useful reviews?

Yes that is one thing, but also then people or the owner may only boost positive reviews, and then suddenly you have a place/attraction etc that may not be as great as it seems.

You can do the same with google reviews or? You just create separate accounts to review.

I am thinking of it like zap has an economic value, so it costs money to do that. On the other hand, the same things could be done as google reviews, like 1 acc, 1 review. What do you think?

Not sure how it works, but I guess you could do both 😅

Zaps have economic value which I agree with. In my mind, zaps works like it does here on Nostr but at the same time zaps boosts a review which then jumps up. The more zaps you get on your review the higher up it comes and becomes more noticable. On the other side, this all depends on how a person use reviews. Ex q: are you the person who writes a review and hope for it to be seen?, or are you the person who uses reviews to find for example a good restaurant, museum etc? (Which I do). This all comes down to user experience and if zaps would be of value in positive way.

Just my thoughts ⚡️

Thanks!

Somehow I think, the important addition could be over google reviews are the filtering options. So you could maybe filter zaps for accounts:

* with more than n reviews

* with certain posted notes

* with certain received zaps

etc, that could help you to filter out the noise.

Or maybe only go for zap count. So if something is zapped by multiple people even low zaps, could be as good as or even better with 1 big zap. And somehow if it is based on Nostr, I feel that the power of community, the power of open sourceness, the power of free market, could help to converge to a good new app. At least in my mind this could be a new app, that is only for reviews.

💯 I totally agree with you 🫂💜

So no algo, only filters.

Yes indeed 💜

Yelp. It’s honestly my favorite but I think it’s search accuracy’s dependent on how often you use it.

What do you mean "it depends on how often you use it"?

My husband never uses it so when he searches he doesn’t like the results he gets so he’ll use something else.

I use mine often (reviewing, commenting, sharing) so when I search the options tend to be 🔥.

Thanks! 💜

Tripadvisor, but lately I don't pay much attention to it, I prefer to ask people. No need for zap 😀

Who do you ask? People on the street? Locals? Nostr? 😁

Locals 🙂

I use Google Maps and the I can rate according to the service etc

Do you prefer it over Fork? Why?

The Fork app is almost exclusively used for searching restaurants
